LOGAN

by Sarah Burton

about

Every bar has a bartender, but not every bartender has their very own anthem. Logan does! This is the story of a young man from East Texas, slinging drinks and supporting his little family in deepest South West Texas, on the Mexican border.

lyrics

He learned fast how to roll up his sleeves and get to work
Maybe the one good thing that came from his old man being a jerk
Now he'll never walk away, hey

Started Working at the movies just as soon as he could
Fell for his high school sweetheart, and he still treats her good
To this day, to this day hey

Now he's living on the border
Slinging drinks and taking orders
Hard work, fast money, take it home to your honey

L-O-G-A-N can you make me that drink again?
The one that gets me into trouble and then gets me off the hook again

Ya he's quick with a joke, he likes disney and smokes
Only drinks O'doules and the occasional toke
Ya he's focused on the little girl in his world

Makes a mean margarita and a martini too
Ya he'll always upsell ya to a much higher proof
Now your night's on its way and there's another dollar under his roof

He's got no time for favorite colors
He loves his sisters and his Mother
The stuff he says is funny when he's slinging drinks for the money

L-O-G-A-N can you make me that drink again?
The one that gets me into trouble and then gets me off the hook again
L-O-G-A-N Oh I think I'm in trouble again

Last night it started with an innocent cocktail
And then we tried every local ale
A couple shots of 1942
We drank our water with Walker Blue
My liver's saying no no no
But my mind is saying go go go
We had everything but Cuervo
And we woke up in Mexico

L-O-G-A-N can you make me that drink again?
The one that gets me into trouble and then gets me off the hook again
L-O-G-A-N can you make me that drink again?
The one that gets me into trouble and then gets me off the hook again
Ya you got me in trouble you gotta get me off the hook again
You better make it a double, and get me off the hook again
